Prevention Action Alliance Prevention Action Alliance is a statewide, 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization founded in 1987. CASA Joseph A. Califano, Jr., former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare in the Carter administration and Chief Domestic Advisor to President Johnson, started The Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. DID YOU KNOW? Teens who had frequent family dinners (5 to 7 per week) were more likely to report having high-quality relationships with their parents. Compared to teens who had infrequent family dinners (2 or fewer per week), teens who had frequent family dinners were almost 1.5 times more likely to have said they had an excellent relationship with their mother and 1.5 times likelier to have said they had an excellent relationship with their father. If you are concerned about the health or well-being of a child who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and you need additional support or assessment, our police and EMS teams are here to help.

Anonymous Reporting to UAPD
If you are concerned about the health or well-being of a child who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and you would like to remain anonymous:

  1. Go to UAOH.net.
  2. Once there go to the search field and type “Anonymous Crime Tip.”
  3. You are then directed to a page that allows you to select worrisome behavior and offer a written explanation.

Upper Arlington City Schools
Students and families can talk with:

  • The School nurse in your young person’s building
  • Jon Rice, resource officer at Upper Arlington High school
  • Andrew Theado, Principal at Upper Arlington High school
  • Jason Fine, Principal at Jones Middle School
  • Rob Gonda, Principal at Upper Hasting Middle School
  • Ask about the Syntero school-based counselor for your young person’s building

Public School Works
Public School Works is an anonymous third party reporting tool. To access Public School Works:

  1. Go to UASchools.org and click on Students and Parents.
  2. Select “Report a Student Safety Concern.”
  3. The system will prompt you to select if your concern is regarding bullying or another issue.
  4. From there you are directed to a page where you have the opportunity to select the worrisome behavior.
  5. Once you hit “Next” you are given the opportunity to supply a first and last name.
  6. If you want your concerns to be anonymous then - first name: Stand and last name: Project (or whatever you like)
  7. You can also share a written response.
  8. Once you “SUBMIT" – this information is shared with district administration.
